As expected a great read, this long awaited sequel, and another culturally significant work from JP Dooley. At turns, just as entertaining and provoking as the first in this series, "Getting High", but now we evolve with his main character Jaymo (the "Everyman" of our generation) and we are ready to anticipate and understand the changes that challenge his world. But through this process we begin to understand the true significance of "hippie law", and how it transcends to today.The characters are complex, numerous and memorial and somewhat intertwined in both books. A so very enjoyable, fun, happy book with wonderfully authentic details grounded in a turbulent, empowering, and fast changing decade. So much history, sentiment, and personality is packed into this story that it deserves a re-read along with the first in the series. I going to read them back-to-back now, to take this delightful journey again!

Another great book from J P Dooley! Lee seems to be Jaymo's match and their adventures are laugh out loud funny. It's a world you hate to leave, but makes you want to live a little more freely. )
Reading Two for the Road was like sticking out your thumb and hitching a ride along on J.P. Dooley's rollicking west coast sojourn through the early 70's. From So. California to Alaska and back, by boat, bus and boot, Jaymo and Lee endure and endear through laughter, love and the righteousness of hippie law.

Another excellent novel by J. P. Dooley and I expected no less. "Two for the Road" follows Jaymo through the intertwining of life and love. He navigates his life with simple trust in his interpretation of "hippie law" to ground him in his quest for understanding the major questions asked. We all wish we could write with the honesty and courage found in abundance here. Luckily, we are able to travel along, by car, bus,bike or boat as he intersects the world and the universe intersects with him. Thanks for the ride.
